One Year In Korea (HD)

On the first year of war in Korea. Shows the United Nations General Assembly in session, U.S. troops retreating in Korea in 1950, Gen. Walker, Korean refugees, guns firing, U.S. reinforcements disembarking at Pusan, and munitions and supplies being unloaded. UN forces counterattack under cover of an artillery barrage, Marines land at Inchon as Gen. MacArthur looks on, and tanks and infantry advance through the burning ruins of Seoul. Corpsmen treat the wounded. North Korean prisoners are marched to the rear.

UN agencies distribute food and clothing to Korean civilians. Korean and U.S. 7th Cavalry troops cross the 38th parallel, find massacred Korean civilians, and reach the Yalu River. UN forces retreat through snow as Chinese Communist troops intervene. Marines are evacuated from Hungnam. Communist Chinese Gen. Wu appears at the UN. UN forces under Gen. Ridgway repulse the Chinese and recapture Seoul, take Chinese prisoners, and capture Russian war material. Warren Austin exhibits captured Russian submachine gun at the UN; Russian delegate Malik walks out. Shows UN troops arriving.

Refugee Evacuation Korea - Volume 1 (HD)

Korean language proclamation ordering the evacuation of non-residents (refugees) from Chunchon Korea 1952. HS, natives read the edict. Shot of young girl who carries an infant on her back, bundles on her head and in her hands. VS, Chunchon street scenes. Natives walk in the dirt street, shop among the stalls. Refugee Evacuation Korea - Volume 2 (HD)

Chunchon, Hoengsong, Korea 1952. Along with other refugees, the family of Kim Mahn Bok detruck at the Hoengsong receiving point. Kim removes the family's goods from the truck trailer and lashes it to an A-frame. The family pile their goods on the ground as they wait. Kim registers the family's arrival with a native UNCACK official. The Kim family appear to walk away from the area with all their goods. A UNCACK officer doles a ration (uncooked brown rice?) into a bag held by smiling Kim. Kim and family carry their goods to a native hut where they unload. VS, truck convoy, most of the vehicles towing trailers, drives from the collection area on various roads. An MP directs truck traffic at Chunchon corner against background of bombed building. U.N. Forces Move North - 1951 (HD)

U.S. tanks and South Korean 57 mm. field guns and 81 mm. mortars fire on Chinese positions in the hills. Machine gunners and snipers fire as infantry advance.

Reel 2: (part 2)
25th Infantry Division troops reach the outskirts of Seoul and a Chinese prisoner is brought in for questioning. Patrols exchange fire with the Chinese across the Han River.

Reel 2: (part 3)
U.S. troops advance against stiffening Chinese resistance on the central front. Tanks fire into the hills, Chinese prisoners are rounded up, and C-119s air drop supplies. Part 4, U.S. infantry attempt to storm Hill 584 under cover of an artillery and mortar barrage but are repulsed by dug-in Chinese.
