Dramatic films of the $5,000,000 blast that rocks Newark and jars the entire bay region of New York. Seventy propane gas tanks are blasted and smoke and flame rise hundreds of feet in air. Far into the night, firemen battle to keep the blaze from spreading.
DOUGLAS 'SKYROCKET' PLANE BREAKS RECORDS
First pictures of the record shattering Douglas 'Skyrocket' plane that flew more than 1,000 miles per hour at 63,000 feet. The 'Skyrocket' is released from B-29 'Mother plane' for record flight.
KOREA HERO GETS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS
Col. Paul L. Freeman receives the D.S.C. for heroism leading his combat team in action in Korea. Army Secretary Frank C. Pace presents award to soldier who will serve as film consultant.

NEW YORK HOSTS SHRINERS CONVENTION
The Big Town extends its biggest welcome to 100,000 visiting Nobles of the Shrine, here for their annual get-together. Thousands turn out to greet the visitors and to enjoy their precision marching, plus their amusing antics, in colorful parade.
NATS WIN ALL-STAR GAME
Briggs Stadium and highlights of the 1951 All-Star baseball classic, with National League home runs providing the edge in the 18th revival of the mid-season thriller. Homers by Musial, Elliott, Kiner and Hodges give the Nats an 8-3 victory, the second straight win for the underdogs.
VOLENTEE FIREFIGHTERS TAKE TO THE BATTLE OF THE HOSE
When two rival volunteer fire departments stage a high-pressure free-for-all with their fire hose, Main Street resembles the beach at high tide. The hose “snakes” loose at one point, dousing the spectators as well as the Vamps.
HAM AND EGGS IS A PETALUMA SPECIALTY
Petaluma, California, the 'Egg Capital of the World' cooks up a short-order method of telling the world! A huge outdoor grille does a land-office business cooking Hams and Eggs for hundreds of satisfied holiday-mood participants.

KANSAS CITY BARELY SURVIVES ITS ORDEAL BY FIRE AND FLOOD
This flooded and fir-stricken city plans for re-building and rejuvenation after days of terror. Burning oil tanks added fuel to the flames of terror of rampaging flood waters that inundated large areas of the city. In other Midwest cities, swirling floods take terrible toll. The damage in Kansas and Missouri runs close to the Billion Dollar Mark.
KOREA TRUCE TALKS RESUMED AFTER REDS BOW TO ULTIMATUM
Bowing to General Matthew B. Ridgway’s demands that Kaesong be cleared of all armed troops and that UN newsmen be allowed to attend truce parleys, the cease-fire talks get underway once again. Hopes of speedy truce rise as new talks begin. Meanwhile, patrol action along the front goes on. The war is not over yet.
