Show All WWII Pacific Theater Titles Know Your Enemy Japan
Much of the film is devoted to the life of the average Japanese, Japanese religion and the part religion played in the rise of Hirohito as the Emperor of Japan. There is an explanation of how the Warlords, reviving and misusing the old Shinto religion created a Japan that became a belligerent world power rather than pursue peace.

A portion of the film is taken from captured Japanese news footage. This shows the Japanese victory in the Philippines, the surrender of Lt. General Wainwright, and the Bataan death march.

There is actual combat footage of the battles for Okinawa, Corrigidor, and Iwo Jima. Great scenes of General MacAthur wading ashore as he returns to the Philippines, paratroopers jumping and landing in combat zones, and the famous scene of the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima.

Scenes include Hirohito, Emperor of Japan, history of the Samari Warrior, Hara-Kiri or Hara Kiri, martial arts such as Kendo, Judo, and Sumo Wrestling, In 1931 an American All Star baseball team lead by Lou Gehrig, Al Simmons, and Lefty Grove played in Tokyo, Japan. Babe Ruth later played in Japan.

Excellent 9-second clip of WWII paratroopers jumping through the door of the transport plane, floating down, and landing in a combat zone, several very hard. 4-second underwater clip of a torpedo after being launched from a submarine and resulting explosion of a ship. 3-second clip of a flaming Japanese plane plunging into the sea.
