Portrays life on heavily bombed Malta during WWII. Malta citizens in wartime. Rubble is cleared and fires put out after an air raid. Scenes of demolished buildings, citizens go about their daily lives, children play, farmers raise food and citizens are fed at a communal center.
Children attend an outdoor school. An air raid alert sounds and air defenses go into action. People go to air raid shelters, Spitfire fighter planes take off, antiaircraft crews man their guns, Nazi bombers appear, and a ground-aerial battle ensues during which two of the bombers are downed. Scenes of bombs exploding. All clear sounds and Malta moves above ground once more.
