Shows arrival of troop ship and returning soldiers being greeted by their families. The wounded are carried off the ship on a litter, placed in an ambulance for transporting to Walter Reed. Many scenes of veterans receiving treatment at the hospital.
Forest Glen Section, a secluded annex about four miles from the main hospital, houses a prosthetics Laboratory for research on artificial limbs and other advanced medical procedures. Shows training of veterans with artificial limbs how to change an automobile tire and drive a car. Shows veterans with disabilities playing ball, attending an outdoor concert, and engaging in other activities.
