Shows the destruction of the Army Air Force planes and facilities after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.

Footage of American men and women workers in the aircraft plants and factories building and assembling planes for the war effort.

Shows WASPs, Women Air Force Service Pilots, flying planes and as air traffic controllers in control tower. Woman refueling a plane and a woman co-pilot in cockpit. Shows pilots combat training. Shows duties of the Air Service Command as they repair a bomber that crashed in a English meadow returning from a bombing mission, plane is repaired, a temporary airstrip is built, and the planes takes off ready to fight again. Shows and explains duties of the Air Transport Command as they transport planes and supplies all over the world.

Shows the 5th Air Force operating out of Australia in the battle of the Coral Sea. The 5th Air Force attacks a Japanese convoy moving through the Bismark Sea in the Battle of The Bismark Sea. Scenes of low level attack. Shows construction of airstrip in New Guinea. 5th Air Force attacking Rabaul and Wewak. Shows fragmentation bombs dropped by parachute to destroy hidden aircraft and facilities.

A B-25 G Bomber was equipped with a 75 MM cannon by the 7th Army Air Force. Shows 8th Air Force operating out of England flying precision daylight bombing raids over Germany, RAF flying night bombing attacks. Captured German films shows the German Army taking control of the frightened civilian population that is being bombed day and night.

From an airfield in England American bombers take off followed by P-47 Thunderbolt fighters, and then P-38 Lightning fighter planes. As the American air armada flies into German territory news of approaching planes are flashed to the German air defenses. Shows coastal anti-aircraft batteries firing, German fighter pilots run to their planes as air siren is sounded. German Focke-Wulf 190 and Messerschmitt 109 fighters scramble to intercept the American bombers. Gun camera footage of aerial combat or dogfight between American fighter planes and German planes. Shows damaged American bombers in flight. Several scenes of German fighter plane gun camera footage as German fighter planes attack American bombers. Shows bombs leaving bomb bay and dropping toward target.

The 12th Army Air Force engaged in operations in North Africa and the Mediterranean during WWII. Low flying fighter planes and medium bombers attacking ground targets. Shows the 12th Air Force planes shooting down German transport planes. Shows American invasion force hitting the beach and fighting to establish a beachhead. Soldiers digging foxholes, tanks unloading.

Shows Japanese Air Force in the early days of WWII only opposed by the Flying Tigers. Flying Tiger pilots scramble to intercept Japanese planes. Shows “kill marks” painted on side of Flying Tiger plane. Shows how supplies are transported from America to reach the Flying Tigers and Chines Army. Shows plane flying “over the hump” from Assam China to Kunming China. Aerial view of this dangerous journey over the mountains of China. Closes with images of a crashed American plane and bodies of dead American Airmen.
