Synopsis: Documents the first 40-days of the Korean War as companies of the United States 24th Div fight the North Korean and Chinese Communist against great odds. On June 25, 1950, 10 divisions of the North Korean People's Army launched an attack into South Korea. The North Korean Army overwhelmed the South Korean Army and advanced south preparing to conquer the entire nation.

The United Nations ordered an intervention and President Truman called on the U.S. 24th Infantry Division to respond. The first mission of the 24th was to slow the advance of the Communist until more U.N. Forces, tanks and artillery could arrive in Korea. Scenes of the 24th fighting a delaying action including the battle at Taejon which gave the U.N. Forces a few more days to establish the Pusan Perimeter, the final perimeter in Korea.
