Ploesti, Romania (Roumania): April-June 1944
Scenes from captured German film shows the damage to the complex of oil refineries at Ploesti, Romania, the richest oil fields in Europe from the continuing bombing and air attacks by the U.S. 15th Air Force. Scenes of German firemen fighting fires at the Concordia Vega refineries. Various scenes of fires and heavy smoke from oil storage tanks.
In September 1944 the Commander of the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces and the Commanding General of the U.S. 15th Air Force inspected the bomb damage at Ploesti, Romania and visited the Astra Romania refinery. Shows damage to cracking plant and various scenes of destruction caused by Allied bombers.
