After Pearl Harbor Detaining Japanese-Americans
Unedited footage of the Tanforan Japanese Assembly Center established by the U.S. Army in 1942 to detain Japanese Americans removed from the west coast after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Tanforan Assembly Center was located at the Tanforan Racetrack in San Bruno, California and was one of seventeen temporary detention or assembly centers for Japanese Americans until more permanent relocation camps could be constructed away from the coastline of the United States.
