The activities of the 376th Heavy Bombardment Group, nicknamed the “Liberandos”, flying B-24 Liberator bombers operating from bases in in North Africa in WWII.

Note: The 376th Bombardment Group was organized into 4 bomb squadrons - the 512th, 513th, 514th, and 515th. To keep their B-24 Liberators organized while in combat formation, each squadron was assigned a unique sequence of numbers. The 512th used numbers between 20 and 39; 513th, 40-59; 514th, 60-79; 515th, 80-99. Known in some circles as the Recall Code (RCL), each plane had its assigned number painted prominently on its nose and vertical tail.
