Synopsis: Re-telling of a mission to "clear the route" of IED's and other problems. M1 Abrams Tank footage including a tank rolling across the desert creating a cloud of dust. Point of view from inside a vehicle moving along a route during daylight hours. While on a night mission a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the road is investigated by a U.S. soldier. When a crouched figure is lighted with a laser the soldier comes under automatic weapons fire. The first man is killed and two others fled into the night. Staff Sgt. Adams had interrupted a bomb maker covering up a deadly IED consisting of 5-artillery shells being planted by the insurgents. Staff Sgt. Adams was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. |
