U.S. Rushes New Bases In Pacific
U.S. rushes to build new seaplane bases in the Pacific stocking supplies and war material for invasion, defense, and as a base for long range patrol aircraft, the PBY Catalina Flying Boat. Air Force designation for this aircraft is OA-10 Catalina. Building new military base on Pacific island, bulldozer pushes over palm trees and large guns are moved ashore and made ready for action. Soldiers Get Mail Via Movie Film
Fast new mail service for "mail from home" to soldiers overseas. Letters written on special forms are stamped and posted as regular mail. Each letter passed by the censor is photographed on small rolls of 16mm microfilm for ease of shipment. On arrival letters are enlarged to a readable size.
