United Nations On The March - New Guinea

Planes drop supplies to Allied soldiers in New Guinea. Australian troops clean weapons before moving out. Australians soldiers load and fire mortar, soldier firing Bren light machine gun. Native fighter firing 50 cal machine gun. Building explodes, two Australian soldiers charge firing automatic weapons into building debris. United Nations On The March - North Africa

The Joint Allied War Council meets in Washington. D.C. Personages shown are General Marshall, General Arnold, Admiral Leahy, Admiral King. Allied bombers blast Rommel's Afrika Korps (Africa Corps) supply lines, explosions as bombs hit the ground. British troops and tanks advance across the desert in pursuit of Rommel's Forces. Long columns of German prisoners (POWs) are lead to the rear by a British Mark VI tankette. Entire divisions of Italian soldiers surrender. General Eisenhower pointing to large wall map, Image of General Doolittle. President Roosevelt made history by addressing the French people in French North Africa in their native tongue (French) by radio. Shows American Red Cross ship in French port. French Children waving American flags after the liberation of France.

Shows American forces landing on a beachhead from assault boats (landing craft), training for the Normandy invasion.

Algiers was showered with leaflets calling on the people to aid the Americans in the fight against a common enemy. Shows crack units of French Colonials pledge allegiance to French General Henri Honore Giraud when he landed in Africa after his escape from the Nazis. Shows Arab Calvary troops. General Charles de Gaulle with Free French sailors.
