After six years in exile President Benes of Czechoslovakia reviews Czech troops in England and leaves for home.
Allies drive on into Germany-the Rhine River is crossed. Scenes of destruction of the main railroad station and the Great Hohenzollen Rhine bridge lies mangled and twisted. Citizens of Cologne come out of their caves and shelder to cook food, collect water, do laundry, and loot food from hidden German Army stores. The German Volkssturm left to defend the town turn in their arms. Allied Forces were met with long lines of P.O.W’s from German prison camps. Scenes of Russian forced labor P.O.W’s being freed. Scenes of thousands of captured German soldiers. American soldiers cross the Rhine River.
