Rocket firing British RAF Typhoon planes attack marshaling yards, command posts, rolling stock, and troop positions. Bombers of the British RAF bomb Germany day and night in March 1945. Royal Air Force (RAF) gliders and troop carriers take off from England with airborne troops. Excellent glider footage.
American airborne troops loading on planes and embarking from France for jump into Germany. Tragedy strikes as a troop transport plane crashes on take-off and explodes in a ball of fire. American glider troops load aboard gliders. Single plane pulls or tows two gliders. American paratroopers jump out of both sides of plane at once. Sky is filled with parachute canopies as paratroopers jump out of planes and float down to earth. Gliders are released, some gliders crash.
Amphibious tanks of the British 2nd Army drive into the Rhine River and cross the River in a never ending stream. Shows troops of General Simpson's 9th Army crossing the Rhine. The Rhine River barrier is smashed. Tanks and troops drive toward Berlin. Captured German prisoners (POW's) are ferried across the river to the Allied rear area. Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery cross the Rhine and are shown with General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
