U.S. bombers in the first daylight raid on Berlin. Many American and British bombers strike Berlin and many failed to return to England. Shows airmen and air crews posing on and around a U.S. bomber.

The Swedish ship Gripsholm arrives in New York harbor with soldiers recently freed from German prison of war (POW) camps. Also onboard are war correspondents and diplomats released by the Nazis. Shows Douglas MacArthur arriving. Passengers wave from the deck as ship docks.

Australia hails veterans home from overseas after four years of battle. Parade scenes as veterans receive thunderous welcome as they march through the streets of Sydney. People line the street as ticket tape drifts through the air. General Blamey reviews these veterans as they parade past.

American women in the news. Eleanor Roosevelt inspects garrisons in Puerto Rico. Mrs. Douglas MacArthur christens the Australian destroyer Bataan at an Australian shipyard.

Nazi (German) prisoners of war in the United States volunteer for work as lumberjacks, shoveling snow, work in a shoe shop. Shows German POW’s in mess hall, recreation hall, and playing in their own band.

Italian refugees, including children, are evacuated from battle areas to southern Italy. Shows refugees moving toward collection points. Footage of children refugees.

Shows Chiefs of the Allied Invasion Command with General Eisenhower at headquarters in England. Shows stockpile of supplies and war material. Show General Montgomery and Air Marshall Tedder with General Eisenhower as they watch new military equipment in action. Hundreds of parachutes fill the sky as Airborne troops float through the sky. No scenes, close-up or otherwise, of paratroopers jumping from the planes.
