Reel 1: Allied troops going on-board LCVP landing crafts and ships in England. Shows barrage balloon (balloons) above the ships of the Normandy invasion fleet in English ports. Shows Soldiers onboard the LCVP and LST ships as they slept, played cards, read, eat, and relaxed waiting to leave (depart) England for the amphibious landing on the beach of German occupied France.

Shows a soldier reading a "Pocket Guide to France", originally called "A.B.C. Booklet” (ABC Booklet- Invasion Book On France), distributed to all invasion troops and was intended to give Allied soldiers a sense of France, the country they would soon overrun.

Shows seaman using signal flags aboard HM LST-301 Tank Landing Ship on June 5, 1944 as a signal for the Allied Normandy invasion fleet to depart England. Shows the USS LST-379 Tank Landing Ship underway.

Scenes of the glider fleet. Airborne Troops are given rations, check motorcycles, prepare TNT charges, load bullets into clips, and checked weapons. Gliders are loaded. Shows paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division ("Screaming Eagles") putting on parachutes and life vests.

Paratroopers board transport planes. Lieutenant General Brereton bids farewell to U.S. paratroopers leaving RAF Greenham Common to invade Normandy on June 5, 1944. Shows wave after wave of Allied bombers pounding the German positions in Normandy.
