Synopsis: Early snapshots of China's nuclear weapons program and how being a nuclear power and their political ideology blur together.
Also of note are scenes eerily similar to "Atomic Veterans" in U.S. atomic testing films in which troops march into the blast area shortly after a nuclear explosion. In this case it is a mix of infantry, mechanized units and of all things calvary; with the horses wearing gas masks and protective riding blankets charging into the blast area in a mock military attack- simply surreal.
