Lifestyle of people living in the Appalachian Mountain region showing hunting with dogs, making roofing shingles by hand, caning a rocking chair, splitting rails for fencing, quilting, country church congregation and housing of the area.

Farther west, scenes of buffalo and cattle grazing on rolling grasslands, land ship wagons, Chimney Rock in Nebraska, the remains of a gold mining town, saw mills, aerial logging, early railroad engines and the start of America's forest conservation effort by Gifford Pinchot.
