Synopsis: Water is the most precious commodity on earth and good management of our forest ecosystem protects our vital watersheds. The U.S. Forest Service places a high priority on managing watersheds across the nation. This program looks at three examples: The Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers in Southern California, the Continental Divide along the Northern Rockies, and the Chesapeake Bay and all its many tributaries. In each case, the U.S. Forest Service is fulfilling its historic mission of restoring and conserving the quality and the flow of water.
