Synopsis: Mangrove forests in the high Carolina Islands of Micronesia provide wood and crabs, and protect coastlines from erosion and storm damage. They also protect coral reefs from sedimentation, provide nursery grounds for fish species and support the food chain that feeds many reef fish.
