Synopsis: Governor Ronald Reagan gave his campaign speech “A Strategy For Peace in The 1980’s” three months after accepting the 1980 Republican Presidential nomination. It was in direct response to statements made by his opponent President Jimmy Carter that he felt was not accurate and misrepresented his strategy for the economy, military, and world peace. The televised speech was made October 19, 1980.
