Synopsis: Scenes of the classic one room schoolhouse, teachers teaching via television, farming machinery in use as well a milking cows and bottling, attendents working at an Esso full service gas station.
The Classroom: Children filing into a rural, one-room school. Graduation exercise, high school student receive diploma and is greeted by his mother, students in class, teachers teach via educational television with one teacher in a studio and the other in a classroom
Modern Farming: Shows different types of farm machinery used in the 1950’s. Caterpillar bulldozer moving earth, man using hand plow, tractor pulling a plow, baling hay, cultivators, combines, fruit sprayers, manure spreader, dairy scenes, man milking cows by hand, and milk bottlers.
Full Service Gas Station: Regular gas 23.9 cents in 1958 and full service at the gas station! Scenes of service station attendants as they provide service at an ESSO gas station in the 1950’s. Washing windshield, filling gasoline tank, adding engine oil, filling radiator, checking air pressure in tire, car on hoist, vending machines, car wash, Edsel automobile. |
