Synopsis: The science and manufacturing for distilling products from crude oil that powers the modern age on the highway, farm and air. This film tells the story and describes through animation the operation of a modern crude oil refinery, and how through science in the laboratory, man has learned how to increase the energy in a gallon of gasoline and also extract an increasing amount of gasoline from a barrel of crude oil.
Scenes Include: 1950’s gasoline station and automobiles, 1950’s service station and cars, laboratory equipment and experiments, modern refinery, crude oil as energy source.
