Warren Harding's body lies in state at the White House on Aug. 8, 1923. Secretaries Hughes and Weeks view the body. Former President Woodrow Wilson and Mrs. Wilson arrive. The casket is placed on a caisson, borne in a procession to the Capitol, and placed in the Rotunda. Secretaries Hoover, Work, and Wallace, General Pershing, and Attorney General Daugherty are honorary pallbearers.
