Synopsis: Chronicles the production of steel at a steel mill in Youngstown, Ohio during WWII including the smelting process, slagging and blast furnace. Describes the function of the workers as they perform each task in the steel making process. Shows the steel mill workers at work and with their families. With no pollution controls in 1944 a cloud of smoke from smokestacks and dusk obscure the clarity of the sky near the steel mill industrial complex.
