Asbestos - A Matter Of Time 1959

Using animation of lightning, wind, storms, and violent forces within the earth, this film explains the geological history of earth and the formation of asbestos. Explains the unusual qualities of asbestos that man cannot duplicate. Low aerial view of the world's largest asbestos mine, the Jeffrey Mine, at Asbestos, Canada. The Jeffery mine is a huge open pit mine sing blasting, large shovels, and large ore hauling trucks.

Animation is used to explain the block carving, underground, method of mining asbestos. Miners working in mining tunnels and leaving mind elevator at end of shift. Shows how the mineral is processed and a detailed examination of how the fiber is milled and undergoes its change from crude ore to refined fiber and the significant role it plays in our lives. Illustrates the many uses of asbestos in construction of homes from concrete roofing tile re-enforced with asbestos, to outside wall siding to floor tile.
