President Dwight D. Eisenhower makes a historic peace mission which carries him to Tunisia, most pro-Western of the Arab nations and the smallest stop on his entire tour. President Bourguiba presents an Arab steed and a cheering populace hails the President.

In France, an enthusiastic reception in Toulon but in Paris, the character of President Eisenhower's mission is altered as he confers in momentous pre-summit talks with De Gaulle, Adenauer and MacMillan that results in invitations to Khrushchev for summit meeting in the Big Four capitals.

In the Vatican, Pope John XXIII elevates 8 new Cardinals, two of them Americans to the Sacred College in solemn consistory rites. Later, in unprecedented ceremonies at which are present the 3 American Cardinals, Cardinal Spellman of New York, Cardinal Meyer of Chicago and Cardinal Muench of North Dakota, a decree is read before the Pope declaring venerable Mother Seton who may become the first U.S. born Saint.
