Canadians Troops Capture Falaise, Normandy—This anchor point is pounded by Canadian artillery, then their tanks and infantry drive into town and mop up the snipers. Sniper bullets ricochet off stone wall as troops run for cover. Tank fire pounds a chateau to drive out snipers. French theater. Falaise pocket.

At St. Mars La Brier—215 Russian women are liberated from slave labor.

Americans Soldiers Clean Out Charters—The left spire of The Cathedral bristles with Nazi snipers until American troops use rifle fire to drive them out. Snipers surrender and are marched away.

In South France—Attractive French girls who collaborated with the Nazis, or who had been unduly friendly with the enemy, lose their hair while their neighbors revile them.

Fall of St. Malo—Fanatical German defenders of this ancient fortress surrender only after their ammunition and brandy have been consumed. Showers of air bombs and artillery speed their surrender. American soldiers firing rifles, 45 cal machine gun, and bazooka. Thousands of German prisoners of war shown.
