Atomic Bomb And Reds Declaring War Dooms Japan
In a series of meetings in Potsdam Germany the final doom of Japan is settled. Shows Truman, Attlee, and Stalin seated. Japanese port cities feel the full destructive force of Allied air power as the final assault on Japan begins. Shows b-29's in flight and a carrier task force.
As Hiroshima and Nahasaki, Japanese port cities, feel the full destructive force of the lethal Atom Bomb weapon, some of the startling details of its production are revealed. Shows Great Britain’s “Grand Slam” bomb being dropped and a comparison to the destructive power of the two bombs is illustrated.
Dr. E. O. Lawrence inventor of the atom smashing cyclotron is shown. General Groves, in charge of the entire program; and the two scientists, Dr. Vannevar Bush and Dr. Richard Tolman. Quantities of uranium is mined and shipped from Alberta, Canada and used in the secret bomb because of the mineral’s atomic structure. Two giant properties were created for building the Atomic Bomb—a 600,000 acre project at Richland, Wash., and a gigantic manufacturing area of Oak Park, Tenn., which has boomed into the 6th largest city in that state. Shows defense workers arriving and entering these facilities. Shows Col. Mathias, Commander of the Richland, Washington facility.

At the insistence of the United States and Britain, Russia declares war on Japan, as an enemy of civilization. A stirring parade in Red Square of Russia’s armed might foreshadows the doom that awaits Japan.
President Truman warns Japan that its war-making capacity will be totally destroyed and that it will be completely engulfed by sea and land forces.
