Four Captured Korean War Pilots Freed By Communist China
4 U.S. Korean War Jet pilots arrives in Honolulu after being freed by the Communist Chinese government. The pilots are Lt. Col. Edwin Heller of Wynnewood Pa., Capt. Harold E. Fischer of Swea City, Iowa, 1st Lt. Lyle W. Cameron of Lincoln Neb., and 1st Lt. Roland W. Parks of Omaha Neb. They tell of the trial in which they were found guilty of attacking Chinese territory north of the Yalu, and of long terms of solitary confinement, with brainwashing attempts made.

Soviet Premier Nikita Krushchev Makes Overtures Yugoslavia Marshal Tito
Seeking to end the 7 year old split between Yugoslavia and Russia’s Communist bloc of nations, Kremlin Boss Krushchev makes an abject apology to Marshal Tito, a startling diplomatic move. 70,000 British trainmen walk off the job creating the United Kingdom's worst rail strike since 1926. Highways are jammed, busses and other transport facilities overcrowded as a state of emergency is declared in England. Shows rail yards jammed with train engines and railroad cars. London England. 3 runners in one race better the long unattainable 4-minute mile. Hungary’s Laszlo Tabori finishes first at 3:59, one second slower than Roger Bannister’s record, closely followed by Brian Hewson and Chris Chataway of Great Briton. A triple miracle mile.
Tragedy Strikes The Indianapolis 500
Death rides the Indianapolis Speedway, the most tragic 500 in a quarter of a century. Two time winner Bill Vukovich is seeking his third straight victory when disaster strikes. The camera shows his car skidding off the track, bouncing and twisting erratically through the air in the shocking accident that takes his life.
