Northeast Devastated By Floods

The most destructive flood in American history devastates six northeastern states. Sixty hours of torrential rains pour down 19 inches of water on soil saturated and rivers swollen by Hurricane Connie. Rising without warning, the floods take a shocking toll. There are over 200 known dead, over 35,000 homeless, and billions of dollars worth of property damaged. Dozens of small communities were completely devastated, a tragedy of national proportions. Shows aerial views of the destruction caused by the flood waters.
