Volcano Hibok-Hibok Erupts In Philippines
First pictures of the violent eruption on Camiguin, an island province of the Philippines, where famed volcano Hibok-Hibok erupted with a roar, sending a shower of fiery death down on villages nearby. Nearly 2,000 natives are feared dead, as rescue workers and medical teams fight to save known victims of the disaster.
President Harry S. Truman Returns To Washington
President Truman hastens back to Washington D.C. for meetings with his top advisors cutting short his vacation at Key West. Truman is greeted by Attorney General Jay Howard McGrath upon his arrival. Christmas Dreams Come True For U.S. Children
Christmas in the United States. Children play outside their snow covered houses and push home-made sleds. A child sleeps in his bed and dreams of a toy stuffed animal, toy trucks, and toys knocked over by billiard balls. Close-up of Lionel toy train as it passes. Young girls press their noses against a shop window and watch toys and gift items in the toy shop. Toys seen include angels carrying gifts, a dog sled, skiers on a slope, a monkey driving a wagon, and an early Pustefix bubble bear.
