Nuclear Submarine USS Triton Is Launched

The USS Triton (SSRN-586), a nuclear powered radar picket submarine, is launched at Groton, Conn. The U.S.S. Triton is the largest submarine ever built and was the first Western submarine powered by two nuclear reactors.
