LINDBERGHS ENLIST UNDERWORLD’S AID FOR BABY’S RETURN
HOPEWELL, NJ – As the search for the Lone Eagle’s son steadily fails to bring apparent results, the flying Colonel and his mate appoint Salvy Spitale, gangster chieftain, and Irving Bitz, his aid, as their “go-betweens” in negotiations with the kidnapers of their child. Meanwhile every branch of the law moves to bring about the return of the eaglet to his parents. Countrywide sympathy for the wracked father and mother reaches such a pitch that no bet is overlooked to accomplish the one aim of the whole world – Lindy, Jr.’s safe return to the crib from which he was spirited away in the night.
