NOTE: The 32nd Div of the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) is composed of the 125th, 126th, 127th, 128th Infantry and the 63rd and 64th Brigades and the former National Guard troops of the Wisconsin and Michigan. The 32nd Division was the first American Division on German soil.

This trench was originally built by the Germans. Soldier looking through binoculars trying to locate German sniper, soldier takes rifle and fires a shot.

A party consisting of Sgt F.H. Holmes, Sgt. E. Batough and Pvt. H. Grant , Company E, 128th Infantry in “no man's land” on the front lines at Austerlitz Woods, Alsace, Germany In WWI. The German lines are only 45 yards from this point. Pvt. Grant on the right has a record of picking off two German snipers in his four days of duty on the front lines.
