U.S. Catholics Donate Food For World's Hungry
Workers sort food at Catholic charity warehouse in New York City for shipment to overseas to alleviate starvation abroad. Cardinal Spellman of New York and Cardinal Griffin of England inspect operations at the food warehouse project. Shows boxes of food marked for shipment to “Krakow Poland”, Shanghia China, Prague Czechoslovakia, to the four corners of the world.
Booker T. Washington Enshrined In Hall Of Fame
Hall of Fame New York University. A bust of Booker T. Washington, a Black educator, author, and orator, is unveiled at ceremonies in the Hall of Fame at New York University. Gloria Washington unveils the bust of her grandfather.
Nazis Hanged For War Crimes Committed At Dachau Concentration Camp
German Nazi administrators and guards at Dachau Concentration Camp were prosecuted and sentenced to death for inhumane treatment of prisoners during WWII. These Nazis were sent to Landsberg Prison for execution by hanging. Shows Nazi being led to the gallows, up the 13-steps, and hanged. Shows German Doctor Class Karl Schilling being led to the gallows, hood placed over his head, and hanged. In Prague, before the People's Court, Karl Hermann Frank is sentenced to death. Karl Hermann Frank, a Nazi SS Official, is led to the gallows and is execute by hanging for his role in the massacre of the Czech village of Lidice and Lezaky. Thousands watched the public execution of Karl Hermann Frank in the courtyard of the Pankrac Prison in Prague.
Choco Indians Of Panama In Banana Harvest
In dense uncharted forest of Central America the Choco Indians of the Darien jungle in Panama harvest and transport bananas. Shows Choco Indian village and Choco Indians, one with painted face. Shows the Choco Indians harvesting bananas and transporting bananas by large canoes to river steamer.
New York Police Athletic League Host Children Outing
The streets of New York City are the playground for the neighbor children. Shows children playing ball in the streets of New York City in 1946.
