Images of Allied forces wading ashore from landing craft on D-Day June 6, 1944 during the Normandy invasion. Various scenes of "Shanty Town", the staging area in England for the men, equipment, and supplies that would be needed for the Normandy invasion. Shows a glider being removed from a shipping crate. Shipping crates used a "living quarters" for the soldiers. Soldiers having "mess" (eating) in a shipping crate. Soldiers getting a haircut in a barber shop located in a shipping crate.
