TRUCE IN KOREA
At Panmunjom, Korea, the signing of a truce agreement by U.N. and Communist negotiators marks an end to 3 years of bitter combat that is called the Korean War. The Red aggressors hold less territory than before their troops marched, but the cost to both sides has been fearful.

Neutral observers arrive to oversee the armistice, and in Washington, President Dwight D. Eisenhower formally announces the truce to the American people and counsels against over-optimism in the face of the major problems that remain.
SILVER STAR AWARDED POSTHUMOUSLY TO SERGEANT RAYMOND TAYLOR
