Footage shows the secret handover of Iraqi Sovereignty. All governmental authority was transferred from the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to the fully sovereign Iraqi Interim Government. President Al-Yawar delivers his prepared comments, Prime Minister Allawi delivers his prepared comments and Ambassador Bremer delivers his prepared comments. Shows Deputy Prime Minister Salih, Chief Justice Al-Mahmoudi, Prime Minister Allawi, and Ambassador Bremer standing as Ambassador Bremer reads the official statement transferring authority from the Coaliation Provisional Authority (CPA) to the Iraqi Interim Government and hands the document to Chief Justice Al-Mahmoudi.
Ambassador Bremer seated at his desk signing the Iraqi Sovereignty document; the Ambassador and other Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) officials greeting and shaking hands with dignitaries and reporters inside the Presidential Palace; the Ambassador leaving the Palace flanked by Prime Minister Allawi and President Al-Yawar and followed by the other members of the Iraqi Interim Government officials (Prime Minister Allawi and President Al-Yawar then lead the Iraqi Interim Government officials back into the Palace). Ambassador Bremer boards a waiting CH-47 Chinook helicopter. Shows Ambassador Bremer wearing a camouflaged flak vest and seated next to Deputy Prime Minister Salih inside the CH-47. Ambassador Bremer attends a send-off reception at Baghdad International Airport. Ambassador Bremer shakes hands with Deputy Prime Minister Salih and then boards a C-130.
