Synopsis: Documenting the day-by-day training of a soldier-tanker at the Armored Combat Training Center at Camp Irwin, California. Re-named Ft Irwin in 1961, this tank training facility is located in the Mojave (Mohave) Desert of Southern California. The soldiers visit Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley and the ghost town of Calico. Climaxing six weeks of hard training, the "payoff’ is an attack on simulated enemy fortifications. Shows tanks firing at night. Point of view, pov shot thru windshield of military bus traveling on a desert road showing joshua trees.
