Synopsis: Documents the battle for the Island of Crete before America entered the war, between the British forces with limited artillery, tanks, and planes for air defense against superior German Forces. Shows the British forces preparing for the coming German attack and the German forces preparing for an invasion of Crete by air and sea. German dive bombers begin attack, followed by heavy bombers, the landing of 50 gliders, and German airborne troops parachuting into battle. The battle and tactics of each side is explained day-by-day. Shows air-sea battles between German Luftwaffe and British warships. Scenes of fighting and intensive combat on the ground, in the air, and at sea. |
