Shows German Captain Lothar von Arnauld de la Periere in a skiff as he is rowed out to and boards the U-Boat (U-35). The German submarine is docked adjacent to a German passenger liner. Orders are given to cast off and the U-Boat pulls away and head out to the North Sea.

During WWI the British armed steamer "Parkgate" is seen from the deck of the German U-Boat, U-35, under command of Captain Lothar von Arnauld de la Periereon, on April 4, 1917. Members of the Parkgate crew come alongside the U-boat in lifeboats.

An explosives team from the U-boat rows to the Parkgate to set demolition charges that will help sink the ship. The U-boat crew fires deck gun to strike the Parkgate at the waterline. The Parkgate begins to take on water and list. A 7.6 cm gun can be seen on the stern of the Parkgate. The Parkgate's bow tilts upwards and the ship sinks, with a large explosion as the ship boilers explode.

The crew is also raising a bicolor nautical flag for the letter "H". The German U-Boat signals for the Spanish steamer to send over a boat with an officer and ship papers. View of the single-stack Spanish steamer Asuarca. The officer is seen leaving the submarine and boarding the ships dinghy, to return to the Asuarca. The Asuarca carried no contraband and was therefore allowed to proceed unhindered.
