Tanks of the British 8th Army roll past the wreckage of Rommel's Afrika Corps in Libya. Tanks, planes, and guns litter the desert. Shows supply bases established on the British route.

Canadian mounted police officially open the Alcan highway linking the United States and Alaska. A truck convoys roll northward.

Allied troops (American and Australian) advance through wet New Guinea jungles. Supplies are dropped from low flying plane without use of parachute.

Carrier-based planes take off from aircraft carrier to attack Japanese planes off New Guinea. The carrier is set afire as its guns beat off the Japanese air attack but remains afloat.

The aircraft carriers Bellawood and Bunker Hill and the battleship New Jersey are launched.

A mammoth ticker tape parade in Sydney honors returning Australian troops.
