War news from China’s Armies in Southeast Asia. Chiang Kai-shek, Madame Chiang Kai-shek, and General Mountbatten inspect Chinese troops in Burma. Shows American plane dropping guns and ammunition by parachute to Chinese soldiers in forward positions. General Stilwell decorates Chinese Soldiers for valor.
The aircraft carrier Ticonderoga is launched.
President Roosevelt presents a destroyer escort ship to French naval officers in Navy yard ceremonies.
U.S. invasion of the Marshall Islands. Large Naval Task Force with numerous troop transports at sea. Soldiers land on Kwajalein and Marines land on Roi and Namur in the Marshall Group. Shows Marines boarding landing craft by climbing down rope cargo nets hung over the side of the troop transport ship. Marines wade ashore under heavy fire as naval guns shell the island. Shows Marines dug-in and returning fire. Mortar fire is directed at Roi airstrip. Airstrip is littered with destroyed Japanese planes. Bodies of dead Japanese soldiers are shown.
