50th birthday of cinema recalls historic films. Shows Thomas Edison and his friend Henry Ford filming. Mrs. Edison displays the Kinescope her husband perfected in 1894. Shows lower Broadway in New York City in 1896, Theodore Roosevelt and the “Rough Riders” returns from the war in Cuba, Theodore Roosevelt in the inaugural parade in 1905, Shows the working girl and a beauty parade at the turn of the century. Shows Lillian Russell, a horseless carriage, Market Street San Francisco, CA in the early 1900’s. William S. Hart appearing in an early movie. Troops load onto aircraft, planes take to air, fleets of C-47 transports in flight with airborne troops, shows paratroopers seated in plane, and jump out of door. Hundreds of paratroopers jump.
