First pictures of B-29 Super Fortress. B-29’s of the 20th Air Force fly from India to bases in China where landing strips were built. From these Chinese bases the B-29’s were able to strike mainland Japan.

Liberation Of Rome. The 5th Army advances toward and fights in Rome. Shows Allied forces and tanks sweeping toward Rome as German POW’s (German prisoners of war) are marched to the rear. Shows General Clark with his staff. The order is given to attack. Allied Forces comes under enemy fire. Show an American tank on fire after being hit by enemy fire. Shows the first group of civilians welcoming the American on the outskirts of Rome. Shows Italian civilian fighters turning over captured Germans to the Allied Forces. Huge crowds greet troops advancing through the city. General Clark enters Rome. Shows General Mark Clark, Major General Alfred Gruenther, French Gen. Juin, Major General Lucian Truscott. and Major General Geoffrey Keys. Shows Italian girl kissing American GI. Italian civilians riding atop American tanks. Rome citizens tear down German propaganda posters. Shows an American GI standing on a balcony before a laughing crowd Imitating Mussolini. Shows the Vatican bells of Saint Peter rings in peace. Pope Pius XII addresses a crowd of 250.000 in Vatican City.
