President Roosevelt returns to Washington after winning a 4th term in the 1944 presidential election. Shows President Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and Henry Wallace riding down Pennsylvania Avenue. Secrete Service Agents ride on running board of the automobile. Scenes of Armistice Day Ceremony at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier.

Shows interior of new Army Post Office in New York City that receives, sorts, and ships mail to U.S. soldiers throughout the world.

With field commanders, General MacArthur maps the drive on Leyte. Guarding the operation in the Philippines is a vast naval force. Battle map shows location of U.S. 7th fleet (Kinkaid) and U.S 3rd fleet (Halsey). Shows the air and sea Battle of Leyte Gulf. Shows aircraft carrier operation, planes land and take-off. Japanese plane is shot down; hit by anti-aircraft fire Japanese plane cartwheels through the sky and crashes into the ocean. The USS Princeton is loss in battle.
