Synopsis: Russian tanks and infantry advance. Point of view, POV, from Russian tank firing and hitting a German tank, German tank crew is removed, wounded treated. Partisans creep through woods, detonate a bridge, advance into a German-occupied village, strip arms from dead Germans, and hear a commissar's speech. A collaborator is shot as civilians cheer. Village youths march off to join the Army.
In New Guinea, natives carry wounded as Australian infantry wade a jungle stream. U.S. jeeps move over jungle roads. Supplies are dropped to the infantry from C-47 transport aircraft flown by Royal Australia Pilots. Soldiers clean their weapons, AIF (Australian Imperial Force) infantry advance into the jungle.
Turkish President Inonu greets Prime Minister Churchill and Anthony Eden as they deplane in Ankara. The group confers in a railway coach. |
