Synopsis: British 14th Army units enter a jungle and move through mud near Arakan, Burma; mules carry, supplies; water buckets are passed up a hill from man to man; food is distributed; field guns are dragged through mud; a stream is crossed; stretcher cases are brought to an aid tent; and field guns, mortars, and machine guns are fired.
Sinking of the German Battleship Tirpitz. Shows Tirpitz firing at British bombers, direct hits by British bombers sink the Tirpitz in great cloud of smoke. Churchill lands in Paris, is greeted by Gen. de Gaulle, lays a wreath on the Unknown Soldier's tomb, reviews French sailors and soldiers near the Arc de Triomphe, and walks past large crowds. Military parade, one unit lead by bagpipes players in kilts. Churchill and de Gaulle standing in moving vehicle waves to crowd. |
